Kendal is a musical theatre actor, teacher and writer, who lives in New York City. As a performer, he has been a featured soloist at the Kennedy Center, the St. Louis MUNY, and various venues in New York. He has also been a guest artist on multiple albums of children's music with Grammy-winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer. Kendal is a proud member of Actors Equity Association.
After graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan, Kendal spent the better part of two years living in Nicaragua, where he honed his skills as a teacher. Since returning to the United States, he has taught young people in New York, Washington, D.C. and Miami, frequently volunteering with Artists Striving to End Poverty. He is currently on faculty at Front & Center Performing Arts Center in Millburn, New Jersey, where he serves as both a musical director and voice teacher.
In 2009, Kendal crossed the continental United States on his bicycle, riding nearly 5000 miles from Seattle to Philadelphia, to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. He is currently writing a travelogue documenting the exploits of his small band of misfit cyclists, and the radical hospitality they experienced along the way in the most unexpected places.
